Explosion at shipyard in Fujian injures 12 people
According to a notice from the Fuan City Fire and Rescue Bureau, a fire broke out at the Huahai Shipyard in Gantang Town, Fuan City, at 13:09 on August 13. Upon receiving the report, the Fuan City Fire and Rescue Bureau dispatched units to the scene. At 13:25, the local fire station arrived and began firefighting and rescue operations. At 14:10, a sudden explosion occurred at the scene. Currently, 10 firefighters and 2 civilians have been injured and have been sent to the hospital for treatment. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing.

According to available information, the shipyard involved is officially named Fujian Huahai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., formerly known as Fuan Huahai Ship Repair and Building Factory, established in 2002. It has a coastline of 365 meters and has obtained government approval for the use of sea areas. The company covers an area of 73,300 square meters, with an indoor workshop area of more than 40,000 square meters. It has one 30,000-ton and one 20,000-ton shipbuilding berth, one dock for repairing and building vessels up to 20,000 tons, and a 30,000-ton dry dock is under planning. The company primarily builds large-power multi-purpose work vessels, product oil tankers, and bulk carriers of up to 40,000 tons.
